Comparison: Google’s Pixel 2 And Pixel 2 XL Versus The Latest iPhone Models: 8, 8 Plus And X

The much awaited phones of the year 2017 Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are finally here. Although the phones received too much attention prior to their release, the streak didn’t continue. With Google’s latest Pixel phones, the company has made a name for itself in the elite smart phone league. The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have reached a point where they’re being compared to the latest iPhones. Yes! You read that right.

Here’s a kind of a stacked comparison between the Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and the iPhone X.

Display

The Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL both come with LG’s P-OLED displays with a resolution of 1920×1080 and 2880×1440 respectively. In addition, the Pixel 2 XL has the highest resolution display among all of the phones. The Pixel 2 has a screen size of 5 inches while the XL version hosts a screen of 6 inches.

On the other hand, the iPhone X is the only phone among the iPhones to possess an OLED display which Apple calls the ‘Super Retina HD’ display. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus both come with LCDs and not OLEDs.

Camera

Camera of the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL is almost the same. However, one amazing feature both devices possess is the presence of a polarizer in their display. With the help of that, you don’t need to worry about your phone changing colors when you’re wearing sunglasses. Optical Image Stabilization is also among the top features of these phones.

One thing that the Pixel 2 XL has missed out on is the presence of a dual camera. Dual cameras have been a major part of almost all of the flagships released in 2017 and everybody expected Google to follow suit with its latest Pixel 2 XL. However, whether this camera can single handedly stand against the camera of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus can be known only after a variety of camera tests which will be done later in the future.

Processor

With 4GB RAM and a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL both possess processors powerful than the iPhones.

Design

The Pixel 2 XL is only 0.30 inches thick which is the same as that of the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone X. The Pixel’s back has also been redesigned with reduced glass which gives an overall smooth color of the phone.
