Ramadan 2019: Federal Government Announces Office Timings

The holy month of Ramadan is fast approaching. Subsequently, the federal government has also announced the office timings for Ramadan 2019. There are chances that Ramadan will begin in Pakistan from 7th May (subject to the moon sighting).

Ramadan 2019 office schedule

PM House issued a notification in which it was stated that Ramadan 2019 office timings for those working for five days in a week would be from 09:00 AM to 03:30 PM (Monday to Thursday). On Friday, the timings would be from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM.

The timings for offices which remain open for six days in a week were also communicated. According to the notification, the office timings during Ramadan 2019 for offices which run for 6 days in a week would be from 09:00 AM to 02:00 PM (Monday to Thursday and Saturday). As far as Friday is concerned, timings would be same from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM.

Office timings (for offices operating 5 days in a week):

Monday to Thursday: 09:00 AM to 03:30 PM

Friday: 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM

Office timings (for offices operating 6 days in a week):

Monday to Thursday and Saturday: 09:00 AM to 02:00 PM

Friday: 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM

When is Ramadan expected to begin in Pakistan?

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) made a prediction on Friday that Ramadan will expectedly begin in Pakistan from 7th May. There are chances that the moon would be sighted on the evening of 6th May.

The department said in a statement:

“The new moon of Ramadan, 1440 AH will be born on crossing conjunction point at 03:45 Pakistan Standard Time (PST) on Sunday, May 5”

In addition, the statement further read:

“The moon will be sighted on the evening of Monday, May 6 and the holy month of Ramadan is most likely to start on May 7”
