Samsung Pakistan ceases Galaxy Note 7 pre-orders; launch also gets delayed

Less than a week ago, Samsung recalled Galaxy Note 7 devices from all over the world after reports of exploding batteries. As a result, the launch of company’s flagship device gets delayed in markets where the smartphone wasn’t launched so far. Likewise, Samsung Pakistan has confirmed that Galaxy Note 7 launch in Pakistan gets delayed too. Furthermore, they have also ceased the pre-orders, reported by ProPakistani.

Since the delay is now confirmed, Samsung Pakistan did not announce the launch date of Note 7 in the country. Apparently, by the look of things, the launch is not expected earlier than October due to recalling of devices.

In a statement, Samsung Pakistan confirmed that the company will announce a launch date at some time later. Moreover, they stated:

“We acknowledge that this may cause inconvenience in the market but this is to ensure that Samsung continues to deliver the highest quality products to our customers”

The request of customers who placed orders for Galaxy Note 7 will be processed only after the launch of Note 7 in Pakistan. It is pertinent to mention that the booking of flagship smartphone was priced at Rs. 84,999/-.

$1 billion loss for Samsung

It is worth mentioning that Samsung recalled devices universally where Note 7 was launched including South Korea. In addition, they also declared to replace already bought Note 7 with new devices in their official statement.

The company confirmed that as many as 35 Galaxy Note 7 devices exploded whilst charging up.

“In response to recently reported cases of the new Galaxy Note 7, we conducted a thorough investigation and found a battery cell issue”

It is projected that Samsung has lost a whopping amount of $1 billion due to a battery issue. However, Samsung is committed to make a strong comeback by continuing to produce high quality products. They also affirmed that the company displays a world of seriousness when an issue gets reported.
