Clean Energy: Sky Electric Brings Smart Energy System to Pakistan

Many attempts have been made by authorities to reduce the ever rising energy crisis in the country. Sky Electric, a US based company, has spread its wings in Pakistan to provide smart energy solutions in order to fill this rising demand-supply gap. Although many such projects have been initiated lately and the current regime has been committed to resolve the issue but the demand and supply gap is still significant.

Sky Electric has officially launched its operations in Pakistan and established systems to provide solar energy. The company has targeted this form of renewable energy due to its cost advantages. The Smart Energy System (SES) integrates technology with a solar grid system that results in a clean, high quality and cheaper source of energy.

Renewable Energy is the Need of the Hour

Ashar Aziz, the CEO of Sky Electric said that solar form of renewable energy is the need of the hour; as the world also needs more environmental friendly solutions to meet rising demands.

Since Pakistan has been suffering from limited energy supply for the last few decades, it is imperative to initiate such projects so that energy shortfall does not impede economic growth. He also added that any country’s economic growth is strongly correlated to its energy demand; higher growth will drive higher demand thus creating a shortfall if required measures are not taken. In case of Pakistan, illegal energy thefts have also given a major blow to this gap.

Sky Electric is using technology that matches with the energy demands of growing economies. The cost of a three per kilowatt-hour (kWh) solar power system is approximately PKR 1 million. The company has introduced solar energy systems between 20 to 30 per kWh, more cost effective for small and medium sized industries.  The solar powered system will also be powered with a backup support.

Technology-driven System

The system is completely technology driven as it is controlled by a mobile application. It works with a Smart Energy Console which has a built in smart screen (touch screen).

The console is equipped with a Wi-fi and 3G to ensure round the clock connectivity. Furthermore, by using internet connectivity, information is uploaded on a Sky Electric cloud. This facility makes it easier for the technical team to identify any loopholes while monitoring the system.
