Uber and Bank of Punjab sign a MoU to help unemployed residents of Lahore

Ride-hailing cab service Uber has inked an agreement with Bank of Punjab (BoP) to work mutually for more than 50,000 Yellow Cab and Green Cab customers by bringing them at a single platform of Uber.

Subsequently, the agreement between BoP and Uber will assist Green and Yellow Cab customers. It will help them in elevating their lifestyle besides enhancing their earning volume.

General Manager at Uber, Mr. Safeeullah Shah and Head of Retail and Finance Department at BoP, Mr. Salman Alam signed a MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.

The customers of Green and Yellow Cab have agreed to choose Uber as their platform. As a result, they will undergo the necessary and prescribed training program at Uber. Once they are completely trained, they would be in a position to use their vehicle through the platform of Uber. The customers will now be entrepreneurs in their own manner. In addition, they would be able to support their families in a much convenient manner due to better income.

Statement of key executives

While commenting on the partnership, Safeeullah Shah stated:

“The partnership looks forward to build on the flexibility, entrepreneurial opportunity and earning potential of Uber’s innovative technology along with BOP’s financial expertise to bring about a positive change in the earnings of Green Cab and Yellow Cab customers”

Mr. Salman Alam also graced the podium with his presence by commenting:

“BOP had provided Employment Opportunities to thousands of un-employed youth through Chief Minister Punjab Apna Rozgar (Green Cab) and Yellow Cab Schemes. Now, our program is designed to equip our Green Cab Yellow Cab Customers with the right to succeed as entrepreneurs and our arrangements with Uber will enable them to earn better income for their families”
