All the aforementioned smartphones will be using Kirin 907 chipsets. The size of the chip is that of a thumbnail and it supports on-device AI. It means the AI functions are processed on the smartphone rather than in the cloud, which could essentially speed up processes.
While speaking about the inclusion of AI chips into these phones, the CEO of the Huawei Consumer Business Group, Richard Yu stated:
“As we enter the age of intelligence, AI is no longer a virtual concept. It is something that intertwines with our daily life. The Huawei Mate 10 Series introduces the first mobile AI-specific Neural Network Processing Unit, launching a new era of intelligent smartphones”
