Anusha Rehman Launches Pakistan’s First National Incubation Centre by Jazz

Minister of Information Technology and Telecom (MoITT), Anusha Rehman launched Pakistan’s first ever National Incubation Centre by Jazz at Lahore today.

The collaboration between Pakistan’s No. 1 digital company and Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom took place under the public-private partnership of MoITT through National ICT Research and Development Fund and Teamup.

Statements of the Executives

While addressing the audience at the launching ceremony, Anusha Rehman stated:

“The launch of the National Incubation Center is an important milestone in the Government of Pakistan’s digital agenda. I would like to appreciate the efforts of my team, ICT R&D Fund Board, Chairman PTA and all our partners who have made this possible”

In addition, she also rendered her best wishes to the budding startups by adding:

“I wish all the startups joining the National Incubation Center the very best in achieving their dreams. They are our future and it is nothing but the very best for them, InshaAllah. We have already also announced setting up of 4 more Incubation centres in 4 provincial capitals together with Innovation Centres, one each for IoT, Robotics and Fintech”

Expressing her thoughts on the occasion, the Co-Founder VimpleCom and Chairman Emeritus Augie K. Fabela II said:

“VimpelCom and Jazz will lead the Digital revolution in Pakistan. This launch provides young Pakistani entrepreneurs an opportunity to further their business ambitions. Pakistanis are ready to make their mark on the world economy and Jazz will make it a reality”

What will National Incubation Centre offer?

The newly launched National Incubation Centre will offer emerging startups the following facilities:

  • Workspace (without any charges)
  • Incubation
  • Acceleration – Jazz xlr8 program – seed funds
  • Right to access over 50 million mobile customers

At the outset, the NIC will equip up to 40 startups with access to high-tech and advanced global facilities. The services will include curriculum for startup education, free broadband internet, gaming zone and silent rooms. Moreover, the startups will also get the coaching from established business leaders besides getting an innovation lab which is shaped on international standards.

Jazz xlr8 provides a pool of 50 million potential digital adopters, seed funding, and mentorship from the best in the industry. People with innovative ideas and minds should look forward to this program. It is indeed a great initiative to bring out Pakistani talent.
