In a latest move, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has increased the vehicle transfer fees for both income tax filers and non-filers. Those who have filed their income tax returns for the fiscal year 2017-18, some part of the vehicle transfer fees will be waived off for them. However, non-filers will have to pay up to Rs300,000 as a transfer fee. The notion of augmenting the fees from FBR is to squeeze its control on those who evade tax.
