Microsoft Now In SPLA With Pakistan’s National Telecommunication Corporation

Microsoft Corporation and National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) of Pakistan have inked a Services Provider License Agreement (SPLA) at NTC Headquarters. The sole reason of the cooperation between the two organizations is to develop ICT businesses and solution for Pakistan’s government and corporate customers.

The meeting was attended by NTC’s Managing Director Brig (Retd) Viqar Rashid Khan and the General Manager of Microsoft (North Africa, East Mediterranean and Pakistan) Ms. Leila Sarhan.

Statements of Key Executives

While speaking on the historical accomplishment, Viqar Rashid Khan stated:

“I am pleased to announce that NTC has made yet another historical achievement by partnering with Microsoft Corporation. It shows Microsoft Corporation’s trust and confidence in Government of Pakistan and NTC. Over the last three years as per the vision of Honorable Prime Minister, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to “digitize Pakistan” and under the able guidance of Minister of IT, Mrs. Anusha Rehman NTC has made significant progress in providing the state of art Telecom /ICT services in Public Sector. NTC is also committed to reach out for innovative solutions to automate Government processes”

On the other hand, Microsoft’s GM Ms. Leila Sarhan commented:

“With this SPLA partnership, service providers like NTC can license Microsoft products in Pakistan. NTC can host software services and applications for their customers. Some of the key benefits of this partnership will be to deliver tailored IT services through a dedicated or shared hosting environment, provide customers with the most current and capable Microsoft platform and to have the option to focus on hosting application solutions platform as a service (PaaS), software as a service (SaaS) and acquire infrastructure as a service (IaaS) from a Data Center Provider, including Microsoft Azure”

About National Telecommunication Corporation

NTC is a government based IT and telecommunication service provider in Pakistan. Moreover, it is also the primary Telecom operator in Pakistan to introduce NTC GoSmart App and Machine to Machine (M2M) Services.

To facilitate the Government of Pakistan, NTC has also established the first cloud-based Tier-III National Data Center. Several national and international companies have acknowledged the services of NTC.

As far as ADP projects are concerned, NTC has finished more than 85% during FY 2015-16. Furthermore, it has also prolonged its reach from 54 to 87 cities. Besides, half of the network has been moved from TDM to IP-based Next Generation Network (NGN).

NTC has also claimed to complete 100% of its projects before time during the current financial year. If it happens, it will be a record in the history of NTC.
