Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) is set to host another interesting event Startup Weekend Lahore that will bring together a pool of talented people under one roof. There will be entrepreneurs with great ideas, rising startups and industry experts.
Startup weekend Lahore is a 3 day event that gives a great platform to motivated individuals who are passionate about an idea. It started in 2012, and since then it has nurtured many high growing startups. In 2016, the theme of the event was ‘Ed-innovation’ which was highly successful as well.
During the event, the participants will gain an opportunity to sell their ideas to various stakeholders including established entrepreneurs, investors, sponsors, and industry experts. Furthermore, the aim of this event is to provide support, counseling and mentoring to individuals with innovative ideas to ensure their ideas could turn into actual business entities.

Why Is Startup Weekend Significant?
The event is composed of three parts that are spread over a three day period: Pitch, Build Something Real and Launch. To begin with, the participants will find a team by selecting those people who can fit in their team and those having the right skill set for their plan.
Thereafter, every team will go through a similar process of model creation, coding, designing and market validation. In the end, each team will face a panel of judges and give their presentation and pitch their idea. The assessment round will be conducted by seasoned experts who will provide their learned evaluation to the participants.
24th February 2017: Participants will give a 2 minute pitch that will lead into formation of small teams. Therefore, only the best and the most feasible ideas will be selected.
25th February 2017: Every team will now work to fine tune their ideas through research, developing their customer base, evaluating their idea, and converting into an actual product prototype. In addition, experts will facilitate them in every step to build their concepts.
26th February 2017: On the final day, every team will present their ideas in front of a panel of judges and receive feedback

- All three meals for the entire weekend
The event will start on Friday evening at 4pm and it will end on Sunday night at 10pm. Interested candidates will have to submit their ideas and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and given different IDs. Once you are shortlisted, you will have to pay a registration fee of Rs1500.
