WhatsApp To Roll Out Verified Business Account Feature

To provide the best social networking experience to its users, WhatsApp rolls out features every now and then. Recently, the company has been working on a unique feature which involves communication with business companies. Through this feature users can interact with businesses like banks, airlines etc to resolve queries and get feedback. WhatsApp will introduce a green tick badge to represent verified business account. To test the feasibility, WhatsApp, for now has updated the feature in beta version for selected users.

Both iOS and Android version of the application will be updated with the new feature real soon. According to a post, a messaging app was quoted as saying:

“WhatsApp is exploring ways for you to communicate with the businesses that matter to you. Some business accounts have been verified by WhatsApp. If you see a green badge next to a contact’s name, it means that WhatsApp has confirmed that the phone number of this contact belongs to a business account”

How to check verification

Additionally, apart from green tick badge verification, users can also check business account verification by “spot message with yellow background inside its chat”. This proves that a particular account has been registered by WhatsApp for a business account.

Moreover, users can see different names of the business account. If a user has saved the number of a specific company with the name of a person in the phone book then that name will appear in the chat box. However, if the number is not saved in the phone book then it will appear with the name the company has set for itself.

What’s worth discussing here is that the users can still block the account/contact anytime to seize communication in future.

Continuing, the company is also presenting colorful text-based status feature just like that of Facebook. Again, this feature is also available to selected users which will gradually flow to the rest of the users globally. Furthermore, WhatsApp is also updating the app with ‘Payment feature’ for the ease of its users. This will allow users to easily send and receive through affiliated banks from their WhatsApp.
