Windows 10 Fall Creators Update: These Are The Awesome New Features

The Windows 10 Fall Creators Update has been released yesterday and it has bought a whole bunch of new features for Windows 10. Microsoft has worked on improving the overall experience of Windows 10 by adding some additional functions, tweaks, and settings.

The Window 10 Fall Creators Update has brought the following new features:

New design theme

With the latest update, Microsoft has launched its new theme for various apps. Called as the ‘Fluent Design’, the theme will be applied to a number of apps which will change the overall look and feel of Windows 10.

VR headset compatibility

The event for the release of the Fall Creators Update also hosted the launch of new VR headsets. After updating Windows 10, users can connect those headsets to their system. This will take the user to Microsoft’s whole new VR-based interface, called the Cliff House.

Augmented reality stickers

The update incorporates a new feature in the Paint 3D app. Now, you can design your own AR stickers and place them wherever you want to, like, on your desk.

The new ‘People’ app

With Microsoft’s new people app, you can pin the contact info of your friends to the taskbar. Thumbnails of the person’s picture will be display in the taskbar. This will enable you to send e-mails and messages directly from your desktop. Users can also send files by simply using the drag and drop feature. All you have to do is drop the file on the person’s picture and it will be sent.

OneDrive files-on-demand

This feature helps you store files on Microsoft’s cloud instead of letting it take some useful space on your computer. If you have files which you don’t use that often, upload them to the cloud and access them only if you need them. This will help save a lot of space on your hard drive.

Auto slideshow creator

Called as the ‘Remix’ feature, this allows you to create video slideshows from your photo albums. Although the process is automatic, all you have to do is select an album and push the remix button. The feature will create a slideshow along with a suitable soundtrack.

Finding emojis made easier

A new emoji menu has been introduced which can be easily access by pressing the ‘Windows’ key along with the period or semi colon key. New emojis have been added to the menu in addition to the existing ones being remodeled.

Android notifications on your PC

This feature will bring all your notifications to your windows system. All you need to do is install the Cortana app on your android device.

Improved stylus features

The new feature helps you find your last known place where you used your stylus. In this way, you won’t have to worry about remembering its last used position.

Pin websites to taskbar

Apart from pinning contacts to the taskbar, you can also pin your frequently used websites. The next time you want to access that website, simply click on the icon from the taskbar and the website will open without the need of typing the URL every time.

Security updates

The new updates has brought along advanced security for your system. The update has added expanded support for Linux and a new security level against threats and ransomwares such as “WannaCry”.
