Zero-Touch Enrollment: Google Provides Businesses Setup Ready New Phones For Employees

Google is constantly in the news for making life very simple for users and this time they have launched a zero-touch enrollment feature. According to this strategy, Google has facilitated businesses who give new phones to their employees by reducing most of the steps of setting up a new phone.

The conventional practice is that whenever an organization provides new phones to their corporate employees, the admin of the organization has to configure the device to ensure all the organizational systems are properly installed. The new zero-touch enrollment feature offered by Google handles this hassle by removing most of the required steps in the configuration process.

The concept of this feature is to help employees use the phone directly from the box themselves as the required services and settings have been installed by the company. Thus, when the product is sent for shipping, it is almost ready to use.

The employee will only sign in, initiate the setup and start using the device. The organization’s admin staff does not have to spend any time in authorizing or adding the devices to their mobility services. The company will deliver new phones to their users as they will be synced automatically with its enterprise mobility management solution (VMware’s AirWatch) as soon as the device is switched on.

Google plans to extend partnership with other manufacturers

Google is currently providing the zero-touch enrollment feature on its own Pixel phone by using Verizon network. However, the company plans to extend this service and add more partners in the near future. Google has notified that it is already in talks with Samsung, Huawei, Song, LG Electronics, HMD Global Oy home of Nokia phones, BlackBerry, HTC, Motorola Honeywell, Zebra and Sonim to include this service in their devices. In addition, some other manufacturers might also be added in this long list.
