Wi-tribe has led the way in innovation yet again by announcing the launch of Pakistan’s first high-speed 4.5G LTE Advanced (LTE-A) network. The company plans to deploy this advanced network by May 2017. After successful deployment, Wi-tribe will be the first company in South Asia and Middle East region to implement this technology on a high spectrum of 3.5 Ghz.

The innovative LTE will enhance the delivery speeds of Wi-tribe network up to 100 Mbps per household in a couple of months. Later, the speed will augment to 200 Mbps per household by the end of 2018. There are plans of taking this speed limit to the next level once more advanced Customer Premises Equipment (CPEs) will be provided. Therefore, the given technology will further increase the speed limit to 400 Mbps per household by the end of 2019.

H.B Group’s Investment Plans

H.B group, which is a leading multinational enterprise, pledged an investment plan of $50 million when it acquired Wi-tribe from National Telecom Company. The current network enhancement is part of the group’s investment plan in the long run. Before the recent investment, Wi-tribe injected multi-million dollars to enhance its network capacity in August last year.

As per the current plan, the company plans to make this LTE-A network live by May 2017. Additionally, the remaining half of the network will be upgraded after two months.

While expressing his views, Chairman Wi-tribe Supervisory Board Shahid Malik stated:

“Within six months time, over 1 Million households will have access to the fastest wireless home broadband service in Pakistan. It will be possible through using the most advanced technology currently available anywhere in the world. In practice, this will mean a revolution in terms of the amount of data Wi-tribe can offer its customers. However, more importantly, it will mean lightening speeds of up to 100 Mbps for a single user household”
