Now, the ride hailing clients won’t have to share their phone number with the Careem Captain. Yes, that’s right. You can hail a ride, call a Captain, get your receipt, all through your phone, but without having to share your number with the Captain.
The new initiative bearing the tagline Protect Your Privacy, and launched without pomp and show, now allows you to call your Careem Captain without sharing your number. When you make the call, it is not the caller’s ID that gets registered at the Captain’s phone, instead it’s the Careem ID that appears at their screen.
To use Careem number, instead of your own personal calling ID, all you need to do is to simply follow the following steps:
- Call on 111 227 336
- Choose your preferred language
- Press 2.
- You will be automatically connected to your Captain.
The two catches you have to keep in mind to ensure that you get through the process seamlessly are:
- Ensure that you are using your Careem registered phone number to connect to the Captain
- Use your city code before dialing

With the new technology tweak introduced in the ride booking mechanism, Careem has taken into account the concern of majority of clients, especially the females. Lately, there have been quite a few serious complaints where the clients registered situations of harassment facilitated through their phone numbers. It is in fact, a development that needs to be lauded lavishly.
It should be noted that the company maintains, rather vociferously, that the customer’s contact number is not shared with the captain in any situation. Careem maintains that if the captain needs to contact the customer then he can do it via the Captain Support helpline.
